Great for a formal hedge, responding well to trimming and shaping. Will tolerate windy sites, dry soils, urban pollution and deep shade . Soil must be well drained and fertile so add plenty of compost to the planting area. Best trimmed in late summer or early autumn. All parts of this plant are toxic if eaten.
