Bareroot plants normally come in bundles of either 10, 25 or 50 plants depending on the size of plants ordered.

We then water the plants thoroughly and place them into strong (re-useable) bags that protect the plants and roots from damage and drying out (see below)
We then place another bag over the tops of the plants to give added protection during transport to you.
The bags are then sealed and made ready for delivery.
The best way to plant bareroot plants is behind the back of a spade...
First ensure the ground is well prepared and dug over (you could use a mechanical rotovator to do this if the hedge you are planting is a long distance)
Once the area is dug over then you need to make a 'cut' with the spade as detailed below...
Once you have made the cut (and digging the soil over well beforehand will make this an easier operation) you take the plant and place the roots behind the back of the spade as shown...
Ensure you plant to the soil depth only and no deeper (you will see this on the plant stem directly above the root system, it is normally where the stem is lighter in colour). Once you have placed the plant in position firm in well both sides, making sure the plant remains upright in the ground...
Once planted then you may require to fit vermin protectors so as to prevent damage to your plants by rabbits...
Push the bamboo cane into the ground to a depth between 15-20cm ensure the cane is close to the base of the plant. Wrap the vermin protector around both bamboo cane and plant. The finished product should look somethng like this...
